Your wordplay, your privacy.

A plain-language explanation of what Poopdle stores in your browser and what is saved when you share a challenge or send feedback.

Last updated October 31, 2026.

What stays in your browser

Poopdle uses localStorage for puzzle progress, first results, daily statistics, your theme preference and a random player identifier for challenges. There is no account or cross-device synchronization. Clearing this website’s browser data deletes these local records.

What is saved for challenges

When you create a challenge, we store its starting word, dictionary version, random link code and creation time. When you submit a score, we store your chosen nickname, move count, hint and undo counts, restarts, active play time, random player identifier and submission time.

Your submitted route is sent to the server to check that it is legal. The route is not retained in the challenge database. Anyone with the challenge link can see the starting word and submitted nicknames and scores. Avoid using your real name or other personal information as a nickname.

Feedback

The feedback form stores your message, selected topic, a random submission identifier and submission time. It doesn’t request your email address. Please don’t include personal or sensitive information. Feedback is retained for review until it is removed by the site operator.

Hosting and technical data

The site is designed to run on Cloudflare. Requests necessarily include technical information such as an IP address and browser headers. An IP-based request limit helps protect write endpoints from abuse; Poopdle doesn’t save IP addresses in its challenge or feedback tables. The hosting provider may process request data and operational logs under its own policies.

Ads, tracking and cookies

This version has no ads, third-party analytics, tracking pixels or advertising cookies. Fonts and game assets are served from the site. The game does not use cookies to identify players. External links may take you to services with their own privacy policies.

Managing your data

Delete local progress through your browser’s site-data settings. This doesn’t delete submitted challenge scores or feedback. To request review or removal of a shared score, use the feedback form and provide the challenge link and nickname. The form is anonymous, so it cannot provide an email reply or automatically verify ownership.

Changes

If data practices change, this page will be updated. The date above identifies the current policy.

One letter. One step closer.

Turn the starting word into POOP. Change exactly one letter each time and make a real four-letter word.

COOK → COOP → POOP

That’s two moves. Aim for the shortest path, or take your own way there.
