A few good questions

What is Poopdle?

Poopdle is a free daily word ladder game. Start with a four-letter English word, change one letter at each step, and finish at POOP. Every intermediate word must be in the game dictionary.

When does the daily puzzle reset?

A new puzzle appears at 00:00 UTC. Everyone receives the same starting word and shortest-path target. An open puzzle stays on screen until you choose to start the new day.

What does “shortest path” mean?

It is the fewest possible moves to POOP using the exact same dictionary that accepts your guesses. There may be several equally short routes. Explore them after finishing.

Can I undo a move or ask for a hint?

Yes. Undo returns to the previous word. Hints first identify a letter position, then reveal a possible next word. Your result records assistance so friends can compare fairly.

Can I play Poopdle more than once a day?

Absolutely. Unlimited offers as many puzzles as you like, with easy, medium and hard options. You can also play the archive or share a custom challenge with a friend.

Are POOS and POOH accepted?

Yes, both are accepted in this dictionary. You can check any four-letter word before using it. The dictionary page explains the rules and how to suggest a missing word.

One letter. One step closer.

Turn the starting word into POOP. Change exactly one letter each time and make a real four-letter word.

COOK → COOP → POOP

That’s two moves. Aim for the shortest path, or take your own way there.
